PROFS is a once monthly event where professors give a short lecture on some of their current research! PIZZA and REFRESHMENTS are provided and it's a great way to earn brownie points with professors, get extra credit, have a free dinner and learn something new! Center for Campus Involvement (CCI) partners with Mortar Board Honor Society for these events. Throughout the history, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) has greatly assisted African Americans and other oppressed groups in their struggles for civil rights, equal treatment, and social justice. One of our initial purposes was to eliminate legal segregation and the various forms of discrimination in employment, housing, public accommodations, and education. We intend to educate our community on the impact the NAACP played in the past for the advancement of our community, and to do this in a way that is interactive and engaging. We will explore the litigation history of the NAACP and will also explore its history of protests and coalition building.
