Rosie Thomas came from Michigan, and she was the subject of a 2009 documentary called "All the Way from Michigan Not Mars." In Detroit she was a member of the late lamented band Velour 100. She moved to Seattle and got involved in the area's indie songwriting scene after dropping out of theater school, recording a duet with Damien Jurado and then several albums of thoughtful, delicate, sometimes humorous folk-pop. Rosie In 2006 she took in much of the indie Internet press with her April Fool's claim that she and Sufjian Stevens were expecting a baby together. Rosie appeared in the 2009 film "Calvin Marshall," and she has an alter ego, a roller-skaing pizza delivery girl named Sheila Saputo. She comes to The Ark bringing a new album, "With Love," her first studio release since 2007.
