U-M to Host Debate about the Income Gap in America

"The Other America: Then and Now — One nation, (in)divisible: The future of inequality in America"

The debate will focus on how unequal American society has become and what is the best way to close the income gap, and will include Jared Bernstein, the former chief economist
and economic adviser to Vice President Joe Biden, as well as libertarian scholar Charles Murray, author of the new book "Coming Apart." The moderator will be Pulitzer Prize winner Clarence Page, a syndicated columnist and editorial board member at the Chicago Tribune.
