SUMMARY:Lecture / Discussion:Applied Physics Seminar | Heterogeneous Silicon Photonic Integration\, Enabling 1+1 ≥ 4
DESCRIPTION:Abstract – Silicon photonics is a disruptive technology revolutionizing the integrated photonics and reshaping the landscape of optical communication presently. A marriage of silicon and compound semiconductors through heterogeneous integration results more than just combining complementary \nmerits of two material systems. In this seminar\, I will attempt to elaborate such an example of 1+1 integration enabling 4 or more key photonic devices\, functionalities\, applications\, and a $4 billion USD business for Intel. Please join my talk or even my research group to explore its innovative nature further\, raise chip performance superiority higher\, and unleash more application versatility in this new AI era.
