Generation APA Cultural Show
Annually, UAAO, a non-profit organization, puts together a culture show called Generation Asian Pacific American (GenAPA). With an average of 500 attendees and 200 performers, GenAPAis one of the largest student-run APA cultural shows in the nation, showcasing the incredible talents of our University of Michigan students through a wide variety of performances.
The theme of Generation APA this year is “hybrID: Who am I?”. It tackles an issue at the heart of every individual: identity. As society progresses and Asian cultures clash and coalesce with modernity, it can be easy to lose sight of who one really is. We hope that Generation APA can shed light on this issue by showcasing the art forms within the Asian culture and subsequently
providing a greater understanding of the nuances within this culture so that people can really start to identify themselves with it.
