Noam Chomsky: “Language Use and Design: conflicts and their significance”
Renowned intellectual Noam Chomsky lectures at the 2013 Linguistics Institute, a national event that brings hundreds of linguistics scholars together each year for in-depth study. This year's Institute, themed "Universality and Variability," began on June 24, and will run through July 19. The courses, many of which are free and open to the public, will feature some of the world’s most preeminent linguists. Course topics will span the entire field of linguistics, from morphology, to syntax, to phonology, and will showcase LSA and the University of Michigan as a global leader in linguistic research and education.
