Public Lecture by National Geographic Explorers William Saturno and Mark Synnott: An Evening of Field Research and Exploration
Hosted by Dr. John Francis, Vice President of Research Conservation and Exploration at the National Geographic Society, this free public lecture will feature archaeologist William Saturno and The North Face athlete Mark Synnott. Saturno will detail recent archaeological discoveries in Xultun, Guatemala, and delve into the ongoing mysteries of the enigmatic Maya. Synnott will share highlights from a sailing and climbing expedition around Oman’s Musandam Peninsula with his world-renowned team. The lecture is an extension of the University of Michigan’s National Geographic Young Explorers Grant Workshop.
