"Hong Kong's Instrumental Voices: Conversations with Three Composers and their Recent Works for Chinese Instruments.” This lecture considers selected recent compositions for Chinese instruments by Chan Hing-Yan, Joshua Chan, and Ng Cheuk-yin. All three are Hong Kong natives who studied composition both locally and overseas, are skilled performers of certain Chinese instruments, and compose prolifically in both Western and Chinese idioms.
