Inspired by the exhibition, The Times, by Fred Tomaselli at the University of Michigan Museum of Art, Stephen Rush presents This Land is Your Land, a program of period music that has questioned the status quo. Rush is a jazz musician and composer who has had over 200 premieres in five continents. He is full professor at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance where he teaches Music Composition, Theory, Technology, Jazz, Dance and Creative Process. Rush will be joined by internationally recognized vocalist and educator, Jennifer Goltz, a soprano who specializes in new chamber music, opera and cabaret. Rush and Goltz will present songs of protest and Americana favorites from the last hundred years by Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan, Nina Simone and others.
