8-9PM  Dance Workshop

Sponsored by the Confucius Institute and the Modern Greek Program

Presented by: Moli Performing Arts Ensemble (茉莉艺术团) · U-M Hellenic Student Association · Yassou Dancers of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church of Ann Arbor · Hellenic Dance Company of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Toledo Ohio.

Chinese dance is a form of art which shows traditional spirits, practices and the Confucius philosophy. If you have been to a Chinese festival or a Chinese dance such as "chasing dreams of youth", you will definitely remember the splendid performances and the special rhythms of traditional dance. Now it's time to try it out by yourself! It's not hard to start to dance with traditional fans!

Greek dance is alive and ever changing. If you have ever been to a Greek festival or party, it isn’t long before everyone is on the floor kicking their feet, twirling, yelling “Opa” or “Yassou” and having a good time. Join us for the show, the costumes, and the music. See how it’s done. It won’t be long before you too are up and moving to the sounds of the bouzouki, clarinet, violin, and drum.
