Bruce Baker is a member of the Board of Directors of the North American Bonsai Federation, and former director of Bonsai Clubs International, the American Bonsai Society, the Bonsai Association of Michigan, and the Ann Arbor Bonsai Society. He will give a horticultural, historical, and anecdotal tour of the Matthaei bonsai collection. Bruce has been active in bonsai for over 30 years, winning many awards including Best of Show in the Mid-America Bonsai Exhibition at the Chicago Botanic Garden in 1987 for a Japanese Yew he has recently donated to the Matthaei bonsai collection. He has written about, lectured on, and demonstrated bonsai techniques throughout North America.
