Deep Fried Pickle Project Concert & Workshop

Deep Fried Pickle Project Deep Fried Pickle Project
Deep Fried Pickle Project
The Deep Fried Pickle Project plays a "fascinating, confounding, elbow-tickling" collection of homemade instruments and found objects with utter abandon! Their musical recipe is flavored with jug band, hokum, and honky-tonk spices. You'll relish the Pickles! Band members include: Daniel Daniel on vocals, jug, washtub bass, swambone, flamingophone, saw, kazoo, Valisa, duck, and kitchen sink; Alan Selvidge on vocals, canjo, cigar box ukulele, suitcase bass, and medicine show guitar; and sometimes (formerly of Asylum Street Spankers) on vocals, dobro, hamBoLin, jug, slide whistle, song sandwich, pig and banjo .The Pickles will have everyone smiling and laughing as they entertain the audience with an award-winning collection of zany, interactive songs. After the performance, audience members will be able to try out some of the Pickles' instruments and see how they are made at the instrument petting zoo segment of the show. The band will share tips and tricks on how to create your very own jug band out of household objects. Next, the Pickle boys will host an instrument building workshop where attendees will create and decorate several simple make-and-take instruments. The workshops are perfect for anyone aged three to one hundred and three. You'll learn about some music theory during the workshop and hone your skills on your new instruments. Finally, join the band as a "Pickle-At-Large" and perform a song with the band on your homemade instruments!
