Biofabricate! The Future of Design Is Biology
London-based Suzanne Lee is a fashion designer turned biological conjurer, an innovator who experiments with new materials and processes. Through her work with design and biology in the ‘living materials’ consultancy Biocouture, as founder and curator of the leading biodesign conference Biofabricate, and as Creative Director of Modern Meadow, a Brooklyn-based startup growing leather without killing animals, her research harnesses nature to propose a radical future fashion vision: Can we grow a dress from a vat of liquid? Lee is a TED Senior Fellow, a NASA/NIKE Material Innovator and author of 'Fashioning The Future: Tomorrow's Wardrobe'.
