The University of Michigan's Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning presents...a lecture from Ginés Garrido.

Ginés Garrido and Francisco Burgos have an architecture office based in Madrid called Burgos & Garrido Arquitectos. The office has an open structure with frequent collaborations with other architects in Spain and abroad. It is a practice with experience in national and international housing projects, cultural and administrative facilities and urban design. They have just finished a large urban intervention in Madrid, the Manzanares River Park. In 2015, they were awarded the prestigious XII Veronica Rudge Green Prize in Urban Design awarded by the Harvard Graduate School of Design for their Madrid Rio Project.

Ginés Garrido is PhD Architect from the E.T.S.A.M. of the U.P.M., where he is Professor at the Department of Architectural Design.

He has taught courses and lectures at several universities in Spain, Europe and America. He has been visiting scholar at the Graduate School of Architecture of Harvard University, the College of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture of The University of Arizona,the Akademie der Bildenden Küste in Wien, the Ecole d’Architecture Athenaeum of EAAL Lausanne, the Universidad de Chile and the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Perú.

He is the author of the books “Mélnikov en París 1925” (2011), “La casa de Mélnikov. La utopía de Moscú” (2009),“Alexander Ródchenko. Cartas de París” (2008) and “El Lissitzky: Wolkenbüguel, 1924-1925” (2004) and has written numerous articles about landscape architecture design.
