From Me and Thee to We: Developing Connections Across Difference

We bring multiple "identities" to work, yet often relate to each other through obvious factors such as race, age or job position. However, there is a lot more to people than just those factors. Come to this session where in a safe and fun environment you will identify your various identities and learn how use them to connect to colleagues on a deeper level.

You will learn to:

Recognize how labels can lead to biases
Identify the various identities that comprise your own personal “Diversity Profile”
Complete a simple and fun model to assist in identifying differences and commonalities among your colleagues
Practice listening skills across differences
Utilize the "I Am/I'm Not" model to assist you in learning about others

You will benefit by:

Increasing your ability to listen and work across differences
Discovering unique qualities about yourself that can be used to increase your effectiveness with others
Learning simple tools and models that will increase your effectiveness across differences.
