OLLI Study Group
This program will explore stage fright (aka performance anxiety). We will discuss why you may doubt yourself, despite doing all you could do to prepare.
You will learn about the complexities of stage fright and some practical strategies to optimize your outcome and enjoyment when speaking or performing. Anyone performing or speaking in front of groups (or wishing they could) will want to attend.
Julie Jaffee Nagel has many years of experience dealing with her own stage fright as a pianist, then later treating performance anxious individuals as a psychologist, and writing about the topic. Julie earned a Ph.D. in Psychology and Social Work from the U.of M., a graduate of Juilliard and the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute.
Her book publications include “Managing Stage Fright; A Guide for Musicians and Music Teachers” (2017), and “Melodies of the Mind” (2013). She is in private practice in Ann Arbor.
This Study Group for those 50 and over will meet Wednesday September 26 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.
