Currently the Kunlun National Park is being developed in partnership with Yellowstone National Park in an effort to preserve the natural wonders and the wildlife of the Kunlun Mountains. The ten thousand things also includes inanimate objects (such as rocks, buildings, stars), emptiness (like outer space or vacuums), and abstractions (such as dreams, thoughts, principles, beliefs, language, the Internet).\r\n\r\nThe work done at BASEbeijing since 2006 has been a quest for finding, experiencing, collecting and acting upon ten thousand urban and rural things. The things collected and exhibited are a combination of \"real\" things, forgeries, duplications and representations. The work in the exhibit involved \"acting upon\" the ten thousand things, often taking the form of books, designed objects and structures done while in residence at BASE. He has evaluated and treated child, adolescent and adult patients and families with ADHD across multiple settings for over 20 years. He has 25 years of combined active and reserve military duty in the US Navy.\r\n\t\t\t\t \r\n\r\nDr. Fluent treated patients and families struggling with the impact of ADHD on their lives for many years prior to adopting his son in 1997. As a child psychiatrist and father to a happy little girl, he was confident at the time that he possessed the requisite skill and understanding of the disorder to effectively help patients and parents navigate the challenges ADHD often presents on family relationships and individual social and academic development. \r\nAs his son entered school and began to struggle, Dr. Fluent quickly discovered that many of his assumptions and perceptions about the disorder, the patients themselves, and the parents caring for them were ill-informed and woefully lacking in appreciation of the profound impact of the disorder on the life of the child and the family.
