Currently the Kunlun National Park is being developed in partnership with Yellowstone National Park in an effort to preserve the natural wonders and the wildlife of the Kunlun Mountains. Traditionally, ten thousand was thought of as such an unimaginably large number that it became the equivalent of infinity. The concept includes everything you can point to or even name -- all of reality.\r\n\r\nIt is sometimes translated as \"myriad creatures\" or \"ten thousand beings,\" but that makes one falsely assume that the concept includes only living creatures. The ten thousand things also includes inanimate objects (such as rocks, buildings, stars), emptiness (like outer space or vacuums), and abstractions (such as dreams, thoughts, principles, beliefs, language, the Internet).\r\n\r\nThe work done at BASEbeijing since 2006 has been a quest for finding, experiencing, collecting and acting upon ten thousand urban and rural things. She supervised NCLR's policy staff covering a variety of issues of importance to Latinos, including civil rights, employment, poverty, farmworker issues, education, health, housing, and immigration. Her particular area of expertise is immigration policy, which she covered at NCLR for twenty years.\r\n\r\nMs. Mu\u00c3\u00b1oz has testified numerous times before Congress and appears regularly in the Spanish- and English-language media. Her media credits include the Today Show, Good Morning America, The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, Dateline NBC, O'Reilly Factor, CNN's Situation Room, and National Public Radio.\r\n\r\nMs. Mu\u00c3\u00b1oz is the former Chair of the Board of Center for Community Change, and served on the U.S. Programs Board of the Open Society Institute and the Board of Directors of the Atlantic Philanthropies and the National Immigration Forum.\r\n\r\nMs. Mu\u00c3\u00b1oz is the daughter of immigrants from Bolivia and was born in Detroit, Michigan.
