It includes Haggadahs of various shapes and sizes, ancient and modern, and in a number of different languages.\r\n\r\nThe Alterman collection was acquired by the University of Michigan Library last year with the help of the Frankel Center, and is housed in the Special Collections Library of the Harlan Hatcher Graduate Library. It includes more than 1,800 Haggadahs and is believed to be one of the largest Haggadah collections in the world. Albert Kahn: Under Construction focuses on the remarkable archive of photographs assembled by Albert Kahn Associates while building the powerhouses of American industry, from the Highland Park Ford Plant to the Willow Run Bomber Plant. Shot by an array of professional photographers based mainly in Detroit, these often striking documentary images were a novel strategy for conveying information about the daily progress of construction to busy managers at the main office. Because the work evolves based on whatever content is available online at any given moment, the artist relinquishes a certain degree of creative control.
