Frederic, who values the concept of 'duty' above all else, has vowed, upon his emancipation, to vanquish his former comrades. Soon the Pirates find themselves preparing for battle with Major-General Stanley, who escaped from their clutches by prevarication, even as Frederic finds himself falling in love with Mabel, the Major-General's daughter. Then suddenly, new alliances are turned topsy-turvy when Frederic discovers he might not have completely fulifilled the terms of his indentures, and his duty may once again place him on the side of piracy, and against both his future father-in-law, and his chosen bride!\"\n\nAll principal and ensemble roles are available for SATB, including Frederic (Tenor), Mabel (Soprano), Major-General Stanley (Comic Baritone), Ruth (Alto), The Pirate King (Baritone), the Sergeant of Police (Bass Baritone), and others.\n\nAuditioners are encouraged to attend the UMGASS Mass Meeting on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at 7:00 pm in the Kalamazoo Room at the Michigan League, 911 N. Some of the traded goods from the American Indian tribes of the Yukon-Kuskokwim delta comprise this collection. Lemercier\u2019s computer-generated print Landforms uses patterns of black dots and projected light to create the illusion of three-dimensionality and movement when seen from a distance. The effects are more realistic than a still image, but still unsettlingly artificial. Silva\u2019s Render Garden explores the digitized landscape, including remix and glitch aesthetics, through software that endlessly generates new plant combinations.\r\n\r\nThroughout the next year UMMA will present a series of exhibitions drawn from the Borusan Contemporary Art Collection in Istanbul. We estimated exposure to PM2.5 for each day using an exposure prediction model created through data-adaptive machine learning methods from a large set of spatiotemporal data sets. We then used Poisson generalized estimating equations to calculate the effect of exposure to 24-hour average PM2.5 on cardiovascular and respiratory hospitalizations and ED visits. We further assessed effect modification by sex, age, and area-level socioeconomic status (SES). We observed a linear increase in risk for asthma hospitalizations (RR=1.07, 95% CI=(1.05, 1.10) per 5 \u00b5g\/m3 increase) and asthma ED visits (RR=1.06, 95% CI=(1.05, 1.07) per 5 \u00b5g\/m3 increase) with increasing PM2.5 during the wildfires. ED visits for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) were associated with PM2.5 during the fires (RR=1.02 (95% CI=(1.01, 1.04) per 5 \u00b5g\/m3 increase) and this effect was significantly different from that found before the fires but not after. We did not find consistent effects of wildfire smoke on other health outcomes. The effect of PM2.5 during the wildfire period was more pronounced in women compared to men and in adults, ages 20\u201364, compared to children and adults 65 or older. We also found some effect modification by area-level median income for respiratory ED visits during the wildfires, with the highest effects observed in the ZIP codes with the lowest median income. Using a novel spatiotemporal exposure model, we found some evidence of differential susceptibility to exposure to wildfire smoke.\r\n\r\nShort bio:\r\nColleen Reid\u2019s research focuses on the interaction of environmental and social exposures on population health with a particular focus on the health impacts of exposures influenced by global climatic changes and society\u2019s responses to those changes. Specifically, she has led research projects on the health impacts of the 2008 northern California wildfires, and the creation and evaluation of a national neighborhood-level map of vulnerability to extreme heat events. Trained in environmental epidemiology and spatial exposure assessment at the University of California, Berkeley, her post-doctoral training was in social epidemiology as a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health and Society Scholar at Harvard University. Materials like vanadium dioxide (VO2) and rare-earth nickelates (RNOs) undergo structural and electronic phase transitions that can be driven via thermal, electrical, and optical means. These phase transitions result in dramatic changes in electronic properties, and correspond to large changes in optical properties, especially in the mid-infrared spectral range where the Drude response dominates. Previously we have demonstrated that VO2 integrated into thin film structures enable temperature- and current-tunable absorbers and reflectors and plasmonic antennas, as well as thermal emitters with anomalous temperature dependence. \r\n\r\nMore recently, we looked to expand the palette of tunable optical materials by defect engineering VO2 to alter its properties, and by using less-studied phase-transition materials such as samarium nickelate (SNO). By combining these approaches, thermally driven phase transitions can be found over a range of critical temperatures from below room temperature to above 100 \u00b0C. We are currently demonstrating anomalous thermal emitters using SNO, which can mask the temperatures of objects from thermal imagers, and VO2-based metasurfaces with new functionalities using
