The resulting new designs have the potential to increase vehicle performance, but will lead to a coupled fluid-structure-jet interaction that has yet to be studied. Numerical results of the vehicle response across the design space and flight envelope can be used as guidelines for assessment of improved control effectiveness, maneuverability and agility.\r\n\r\nFirst, new modeling methods for approximating the steady-state and dynamic loads are presented. The methods account for the wide range of flight conditions and maneuvering conditions. Next, multiple vehicle models with varying flexibility and fin configuration are developed to conduct high-fidelity analysis and reduced order model flight simulation.\r\n\r\nSteady-state and dynamic high-fidelity results have presented that highlight the nonlinearity and sensitivity of fluid-structure-jet interaction to perturbations in the flight conditions and control inputs. These high-fidelity results, as well as flight simulation results of the reduced order models, reveal how fluid-structure-jet interaction can significantly affect the vehicle flight response.\r\n\r\nChair: Professor Carlos E. She was an art professor for 17 years (1969-85) at the Eastern Michigan University. During this time she also organized and facilitated numerous community-engaged projects that empowered first-time and emerging artists to show their work. It was not until she retired and was well into her 70s that she turned her focus to her own art practice. Her work was duly recognized with numerous awards from the Michigan Water Color Society, Washtenaw Council for the Arts, and the Holland Friends of Art between 1984 and 1993.\r\n\r\nFor the first time in the last three decades, Materials On Hand: The Art of Ellen Wilt brings together over 40 carefully selected works from personal and private collections that highlight Wilt\u2019s artistic contributions in Southeastern Michigan. Her intuitive and playful bricolage way of working reveals the scope of her achievement and her specific interest in the Michigan region and its landscape. She has developed multiple bodies of work that feature domestic objects from teapots to chairs while also reckoning with iconic architectural tropes of bridges and tunnels which are ongoing motifs in her work. Wilt continually experiments and explores new ways of working in a variety of two dimensional mediums including, oil, acrylic and watercolor.
