SUMMARY:Lecture / Discussion:Teach-Out Series: Listening to Puerto Rico
DESCRIPTION:On September 20\, 2017\, Hurricane María struck the island of Puerto Rico with catastrophic force\, shattering lives\, communities\, infrastructure and the physical environment. One year later\, Puerto Rico remains in the grips of an ongoing and systematic crisis. \n\nIn June 2018\, teams from the University of Michigan and the University of Notre Dame traveled to Puerto Rico to film testimonies from Puerto Ricans from all walks of life. In this Teach-Out\, you will hear powerful narratives of loss and recovery\, abandonment and resilience\, failure and hope as you come to better understand Puerto Rico’s past\, present\, and future. \n\nThese individual testimonials are complemented by resources that are meant to deepen your understanding of an urgent multidimensional crisis that involves policy\, culture and history\, political economy\, environmental loss\, civil infrastructure\, public health\, and human dignity. In this teach-out\, we spotlight a number of successful organizations\, strategies and solutions that are contributing to Puerto Rico’s recovery. \n\nUnderstanding begins with listening. But “listening” is not just about hearing people’s words: it also implies taking notice of\, and acting on\, what people say. Shaped by the individual experience of everyday life\, the Listening to Puerto Rico Teach-Out invites you to hear many voices from a distressed but resilient island and discover how you can contribute to the island’s recovery. \n\nThis Teach-Out is a collaboration between the University of Michigan and the University of Notre Dame. \n\nPlease join us in listening to Puerto Rico.

SUMMARY:Exhibition:You Must Judge a Book by Cover: Highlights from the Julia Miller Collection of Bookbinding Models
DESCRIPTION:What did a book look like in ancient Rome? How did our ancestors read\, hold and protect their books? How did medieval monks construct the bindings of their manuscripts? These and many other questions will be answered by visiting our exhibit of models recreating ancient and medieval bookbindings. Bequeathed by scholar conservator Julia Miller\, this extraordinary teaching collection of bookbinding models includes replicas of Graeco-Roman tablets\, early Coptic books\, as well as medieval European\, Near Eastern\, and Islamic bindings spanning from the 12th to the 17th century.

SUMMARY:Exhibition:Exhibition | Urban Biographies\, Ancient and Modern
DESCRIPTION:Human beings are political animals\, said the Greek philosopher Aristotle: animals that live in the “polis\,” the Greek word for city. Over two thousand years later\, we are still political animals\, and the study of ancient cities is of abiding interest\, for our perceptions of the urban centers of the past continue to exert a powerful hold on modern culture. \n\nThis exhibition showcases three Classical cities where the University of Michigan sponsors field projects: Gabii in Italy\, Olynthos in Greece\, and Notion in Turkey. The archaeologists excavating these cities\, in collaboration with students and faculty from U-M’s Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning\, are comparing their findings to projects of urban rebuilding in contemporary Detroit\, asking two main questions: How do contemporary archaeological methods facilitate the study of both ancient and modern cities? And how can the study of the past help illuminate the challenges and opportunities facing Detroit today? \n\nLead Curator: Christopher Ratté\nCo-Curators: Lisa Nevett\, Nicola Terrenato\, and Kathy Velikov\n\nVisit the exhibition website: http://exhibitions.kelsey.lsa.umich.edu/urban-biographies

SUMMARY:Exhibition:Beyond Borders: Global Africa
DESCRIPTION:More than ever in the era of globalization\, ideas traverse geographic\, generational\, and cultural boundaries\, even as national borders seem to be closing. 'Beyond Borders: Global Africa' reflects on this moment by considering how Africa and its artists have been at the center of complex histories of encounter and exchange for centuries. Bringing together a dazzling array of works made in Africa\, Europe\, and the United States from the nineteenth to twenty-first century\, the exhibition demonstrates the international scope and reach of art from Africa and the African diaspora. It also explores issues such as slavery\, colonization\, migration\, racism\, and identity at play in the objects and their histories. Highlights include paintings\, photographs\, sculpture\, and installations by Kudzanai Chiurai\, Omar Victor Diop\, Wangechi Mutu\, and Serge Alain Nitegeka. The exhibition will be accompanied by a fully-illustrated publication\, the tenth in the UMMA Books series.\n\nLead support for 'Beyond Borders: Global Africa' is provided by the University of Michigan Office of the Provost\, Michigan Medicine\, the National Endowment for the Arts\, and the University of Michigan Office of Research\, African Studies Center\, and Department of Afroamerican and African Studies. Additional generous support is provided by the University of Michigan CEW Frances and Sydney Lewis Visiting Leaders Fund and Susan Ullrich.

SUMMARY:Workshop / Seminar:Manufacturing Research Seminar Series: Smart Manufacturing_Integrating In-Process Sensing\, Big Data Analytics\, and Modeling for Zero Part Defects in Smart Additive Manufacturing
DESCRIPTION:Abstract: This talk concerns the following research question in the context of Additive Manufacturing (AM) of metal parts: how to overcome the existing poor quality of AM parts? \n\nThe answer to this question requires melding fundamental knowledge of the thermal phenomena that cause defects\, with algorithms that can detect the formation of defects from data acquired by several sensors built into an AM machine. This solution in turn entails transcending the twin challenges of: modeling the complex thermal physics of AM\, and Big Data analytics\, wherein existing finite element modeling\, and statistical machine learning approaches\, respectively\, are limited owing to their computational tortuosity. \n\nIncidentally\, an approach to overcome these challenges can be forwarded from the domain of spectral graph theory. The graph theoretic approach allows discrete approximation of heat flux in AM parts\, which reduces computation time to minutes\, as well as\, facilitates data from different sensors to be analyzed simultaneously and quickly. The efficacy of this graph theoretic approach is seconded based on data generated and shared by collaborators at NIST\, Penn State\, and Edison Welding Institute.\n\nBio:\nPrahalada Rao is currently an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical and Materials Engineering Department\, University of Nebraska-Lincoln. His research focuses on sensor-based monitoring of complex systems. He was recently (2018) awarded the NSF CAREER award for sensor-based monitoring and control of additive manufacturing processes. He earned the 2017 Society of Manufacturing Engineers\, Yoram Koren Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer Award\, and the 2018 IIE Transactions Best Paper Award. He is the area editor for the Quality and Reliability Engineering section of the IIE Transactions.

SUMMARY:Exhibition:Marcel Dzama: A Jester's Dance
DESCRIPTION:Canadian artist Marcel Dzama is known for imaginative drawings\, sculptures\, dioramas\, and films rooted in the traditions of Surrealism\, Dada and outsider art. His 2013 film Une danse des bouffons (or A jester's dance) tells the tale of a romance between two principal figures of these traditions: Dada icon Marcel Duchamp and Brazilian sculptor Maria Martins\, who was the model for Duchamp's final\, enigmatic artwork Étant donnés. Rife with art-historical references not only to the work of Duchamp but also to Francisco Goya\, Francis Picabia and Joseph Beuys\, among others\, Une danse des bouffons navigates a sexually charged and mesmerizing world in which fantasy and torture run amok. The gallery presentation also includes a storyboard for the film featuring Dzama’s ink and watercolor drawings\, renderings of small hybrid figures resembling children’s book illustrations. The drawings underscore the fantastical elements in a film that combines the carnivalesque with a nightmarish exploration of the surreal.\n\nLead support for Marcel Dzama: A Jester's Dance is provided by Candy and Michael Barasch. Additional generous support is provided by the Herbert W. and Susan L. Johe Endowment and the University of Michigan Institute for the Humanities and the Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design.

SUMMARY:Exhibition:New at UMMA: Life Magazine 1947 Homecoming Photographs
DESCRIPTION:In October 1947\, just two years after the end of World War II\, the popular weekly news magazine LIFE sent staff photographers Lisa Larsen and Ralph Morse to cover homecoming weekend at the University of Michigan. The subsequent article\, “Michigan Homecoming\,” which brought national attention to UM’s athletic program\, featured a seven-page spread with photographs of the campus during a much-anticipated football game between the number-one ranked Michigan Wolverines and the University of Minnesota’s Golden Gophers. This installation provides a unique opportunity to view twenty-one images of that weekend\, many of which were not published in the original article\, recently donated to UMMA by John and Susan Edwards Harvith. Considered alongside the article\, these photographs of fervent fans\, strolling couples\, alumni making their annual pilgrimage\, and the game itself present LIFE magazine’s view of a giddy post-war public enjoying a return to American pastimes.\n\nThese photographs were recently gifted to UMMA by John (AB '69\, JD '73) and Susan (MMP '73) Harvith.

SUMMARY:Exhibition:See Through: Windows and Mirrors in Twentieth-Century Photography
DESCRIPTION:See Through: Mirrors and Windows in Twentieth-Century Photography brings together a group of images that are doubly framed—once by the camera lens and again by the border of a mirror or window. By refracting and distorting\, revealing and concealing\, these reflective and transparent surfaces both draw attention to the photographer’s efforts to frame the world and expose the contingent nature of reality. Highlights from the exhibition include works by Eugène Atget\, Robert Doisneau\, Elliott Erwitt\, Walker Evans\, André Kertész\, Joanne Leonard\, Danny Lyon\, and Joel Meyerowitz. By extending the limits of perception\, these witty and provocative works invite us to see [through to] new visual possibilities.\n\nLead support for See Through: Windows and Mirrors in Twentieth-Century Photography is provided by the Herbert W. and Susan L. Johe Endowment.

SUMMARY:Lecture / Discussion:CSEAS Friday Lecture Series. Facebook\, Politics\, and Participation in the Philippines
DESCRIPTION:Filipinos spend more time on social media than anyone else in the world\, yet little is understood about how social media impacts politics in the Philippines. The speakers have examined the broad relationship between Facebook usage and political participation in an increasingly digitally networked Philippines society. New scholarship in political communication espouses a strong positive relationship between social media and the rise of populist politicians\, but this hypothesis may not hold true in the case of Rodrigo Duterte's electoral victory. Citing survey findings and social network analysis following the 2016 presidential election\, the speakers will demonstrate that political engagement via Facebook played a key role in this unprecedented election\, but not in ways previous research has posited. The speakers will use their findings to explain the implications for future political developments in the Philippines and across Southeast Asia. \n \nAim Sinpeng is a lecturer in the Department of Government and International Relations at the University of Sydney. She is a co-founder of the Sydney Cyber Security Network and a Thailand Coordinator for the Sydney Southeast Asia Centre. She has published widely on Thai politics and has been awarded multiple research grants to study social media and political participation in Southeast Asia. She is completing a manuscript on anti-democratic politics in democratizing states. \n \nAries A. Arugay is an associate professor of political science and co-convenor of the Strategic Studies Program of the Center for Integrative and Development Studies at the University of the Philippines Diliman. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on comparative politics\, international relations\, research methodology\, and political thought. He currently holds an ASEAN@50 Fellowship from New Zealand’s Southeast Asia Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence and the One UP Professorial Chair in Comparative Democratization.\n\nIf you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to attend this event\, please reach out to cseas@umich.edu at least 2 weeks in advance of this event. SUMMARY:Workshop / Seminar:Statistics Department Seminar Series: Qiyang Han\, Assistant Professor\, Department of Statistics\, Rutgers University
DESCRIPTION:We study the convergence rate of the least squares estimator (LSE) in a regression model\nwith possibly heavy-tailed errors. Despite its importance in practical applications\, \ntheoretical understanding of this problem has been limited. We first show that from a \nworst-case perspective\, the convergence rate of the LSE in a general non-parametric regression model is given by the maximum of the Gaussian regression rate and the noise rate induced by the errors. In the more difficult statistical model where the errors only have a second moment\, we further show that the sizes of the 'localized envelopes' of the model give a sharp interpolation for the convergence rate of the LSE between the worst-case rate and the (optimal) parametric rate.\nThese results indicate both certain positive and negative aspects of the LSE as an estimation procedure in a heavy-tailed regression setting. The key technical innovation is a new multiplier inequality that sharply controls the size of the multiplier empirical process associated with the LSE\, which also finds applications in shape-restricted and sparse linear regression problems.

SUMMARY:Workshop / Seminar:Dance Modern Lab Master Class Series: Sean Hoskins
DESCRIPTION:Sean Hoskins investigates the intersections of dance and technology as a choreographer\, teacher\, performer\, and screendance creator. Hoskins was a dance major at Middlebury College and received his MFA from SMTD\, where he specialized in choreography. He is an avid improviser and creator. As a teacher\, Hoskins directed the dance program at Blair Academy and has taught courses and workshops at U-M\, Wayne State University\, Oakland University\, Middlebury\, and Bates colleges\, and regularly at regional American College Dance Association conferences. Hoskins is currently the dance technology coordinator and part-time faculty at SMTD.\n\n\nEach Modern Lab session features a different guest artist teaching a master class and sections from their repertory. This panorama of the contemporary dance field is presented to broaden the students’ awareness of potential career possibilities. Each guest artist conducts a 30-minute technique class/warm-up and then teaches repertory that is performed by the class. In the final 15 minutes\, faculty coordinator Bill De Young conducts a Q & A with each artist\, discussing their career\; their recommendations for transitioning from student to professional\, and what they look for when they audition dancers for their projects.\n\nThis event supported in part by the EXCEL Lab.

SUMMARY:Conference / Symposium:EIHS Symposium: Museum Stories: The Ethics of Collecting
DESCRIPTION:What constitutes rightful ownership of cultural objects? The unprecedented looting of modern wars as well as various protest movements have spawned international regulations\, declarations\, and efforts that offer guidance in this regard. The extant framework\, however\, falls short of exhausting the ethical problems raised by artifacts\, their histories\, and their displays. For museum and university collections these questions have gained the greatest urgency. Our panel offers reflections on this vast terrain\; three case studies will follow an opening contribution by one of the foremost experts on restitution\, repatriation\, and cultural heritage law. \n\nNote: This event counts toward Responsible Conduct in Research and Scholarship (RCRS) training requirements for graduate students in History and possibly other disciplines.\n\nPanelists:\nPatty Gerstenblith\, Distinguished Research Professor of Law\, DePaul University\nRaymond Silverman\, Professor\, History	of Art\, Afroamerican and African Studies\, University of Michigan\nTerry G. Wilfong\, Director / Curator of Graeco-Roman Egyptian Collections\, Kelsey Museum of Archaeology\, University of Michigan\nYao-Fen You\, Associate Curator\, European Sculpture and Decorative ArtsDetroit Institute of Arts\nHelmut Puff (chair)\, Elizabeth L. Eisenstein Collegiate Professor of History and Germanic Languages\, University of Michigan\n\nFree and open to the public. Lunch provided. \n\nThis event is part of the Friday Series of the Eisenberg Institute for Historical Studies. It is made possible by a generous contribution from Kenneth and Frances Aftel Eisenberg.

SUMMARY:Presentation:Psychology Methods Hour - A Frequentist’s Journey into the Land of Bayes—the problem(s) that pushed me over the edge.
DESCRIPTION:Dr. Flannagan will talk about a study that she led in 2013-2015 during the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) (EU-US trade) negotiations. The study evaluated whether EU-regulated cars and US-regulated cars could be deemed \"equally safe.\" She will focus on the methods and some of the political context for this study that made the choice of methods critical. In the study\, she and her colleagues used both Bayesian and non-Bayesian methods\, but she'll focus on the Bayesian approach that they took. Although the particular study is closer to Epidemiology than Psychology per se\, it has obvious parallels to any situation in which the question of \"are these the same\" is of great importance. In addition\, the sponsor had a particular point of view that had implications for the methods the team used and the conclusions they could draw.

SUMMARY:Lecture / Discussion:The Promise of Making: Desiring Alternatives and Hacking Entrepreneurial Living in China
DESCRIPTION:Since 2014\, a series of Western media outlets from Wired UK over the Economist to Forbes have begun celebrate the city of Shenzhen in the South of China as a rising hub of innovation\, a so-called “Hollywood for Makers” and “Silicon Valley of Hardware.” These media stories took up an idea that open source hardware advocates had been promoting for several years: that the city of Shenzhen had become crucial for the realization of one of the key promises of the maker movement\, i.e. to prototype concrete alternatives to the pitfalls of the information society and contemporary capitalism. Just a couple years earlier\, Shenzhen was largely known as a place of copycats and fakes that lacked creativity where ideas created elsewhere were simply executed and mass produced. What happened within the timespan of only a few years that changed Shenzhen’s image from demonstrating China’s continuous lag in technology innovation towards a place where alternatives to neoliberal capitalism could be prototyped? In this talk\, I present excerpts from my forthcoming book “The Promise of Making” to unpack the historical contingencies of this transformation of Shenzhen\, and with it China\, in the global tech imaginary. Drawing from more than seven years of ethnographic research\, I show how the displacement of technooptimistic onto Shenzhen unfolded through and alongside the emergence of “making” as a mode of intervention in the status-quo by hacking not only machines\, but also markets and work itself. Shenzhen\, I show\, was rendered by open source hardware advocates\, venture capitalists\, avant-garde designers\, Chinese politicians and state actors alike as a laboratory to prototype what I call “entrepreneurial living\,” i.e. a naturalization of experimentation as a mode of “living on\" amidst a pervasive economization of life. While making reformulated a key neoliberal logic of self-economization as a story of empowerment by promising to include ever more people in its call for self-transformation into human capital\, Shenzhen came to be seen as the place to accomplish this upgrade of the self and to regain a sense of control amidst anxieties over economic and environmental crisis. Entrepreneurial living as an analytical frame moves beyond a theorization of making or hacking as a countercultural or grassroots movement that exists separate or independent from the systems it sets out to challenge\, but points instead to the parasitic relations between contemporary maker cultures\, China’s shifting relations in geopolitics and the global political economy.

SUMMARY:Workshop / Seminar:HET Seminars | Might the Dark Matter Also Be the Inflaton?
DESCRIPTION:Dark matter and inflation represent two of the biggest open question in cosmology. Although they are generally thought of as distinct and unrelated phenomena\, here I will ask whether they might be closely connected. In particular\, I will describe a class of models in which a stable inflaton is produced as a thermal relic in the early universe and constitutes the dark matter. I will show that the annihilations of these inflatons can efficiently reheat the universe\, and I will identify several examples of inflationary potentials within this scenario which can accommodate all cosmic microwave background observables. As a simple example\, I will discuss a model in which inflaton annihilations that take place through a Higgs portal interaction\, leading to encouraging prospects for future direct detection experiments.

SUMMARY:Lecture / Discussion:Open Lecture | The Lyric “I”: private and public narratives
DESCRIPTION:There are two versions of personal identity that often clash in the artistic process originating in oppression\; they destabilize the voice of the “Lyric I\". This lecture will raise several questions about the relationship between personal biography and the construction of a lyric speaker\, and will explore the notion of a poetics that insists on healing the damage politics does on family\; it will discuss what happens when private and public identities become conflated because of politics\, and how poetry “acts” on the sense of family as a social microcosm where the battle between political self of the private sense of self takes place.

SUMMARY:Lecture / Discussion:Smith Lecture: Ice in Equatorial Pangaea?
DESCRIPTION:The Late Paleozoic (300 Ma) archives the longest glaciation of the Phanerozoic\, and Earth’s only example of icehouse collapse on a vegetated planet. Although glaciation is well documented from the southern paleolatitudes\, the low-latitude tropics have long been considered uniformly warm. We hypothesize that alpine glaciation occurred in relatively low-elevation regions of tropical Pangaea. This hypothesis has been widely criticized as “outrageous” and remains poorly accepted\; if valid\, however\, it implies globally cool temperatures at least episodically during the late Paleozoic Ice Age\, and raises major questions about how this could have occurred.

SUMMARY:Workshop / Seminar:Seminar Title: \"Magnetic Resonance Studies of Membrane Proteins\"
DESCRIPTION:Abstract: CW and pulsed Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) spectroscopic techniques coupled with site-directed spin-labeling (SDSL) can provide important structural information on complicated biological systems such as membrane proteins. Strategically placed spin-labels alter relaxation times of NMR active nuclei and yield pertinent structural information. EPR techniques such as Double Electron-Electron Resonance (DEER) and Electron Spin Echo Envelope Modulation (ESEEM) are powerful structural biology tools. The DEER technique can be used to measure distances between 2 spin labels from 20 to 70 Å. However\, the application of DEER spectroscopy to study membrane proteins can be difficult due to short phase memory times (Tm) and weak DEER modulation in more biologically relevant proteoliposomes when compared to water soluble proteins or membrane proteins in detergent micelles. The combination of these factors often leads to broad distance distributions\, poor signal to noise\, and limitations in the determination of longer distances. The short phase memory times are typically due to uneven distributions of spin-labeled protein within the lipid bilayer\, which creates local inhomogeneous pockets of high spin concentrations. Approaches to overcome these limitations and improve the quality of DEER measurements for membrane proteins will be discussed: lipodisq nanoparticles\, bi-functional spin labels (BSL)\, and Q-band pulsed EPR spectroscopy. ESEEM data will be shown to probe the secondary structure of membrane proteins. CW-EPR spectra of spin-labeled membrane proteins will be used to investigate dynamics and the immersion depth in a lipid bilayer.

SUMMARY:Lecture / Discussion:ARCHITECTURE PRACTICE SESSIONS: LECTURE - Third Century Grant Initiative
DESCRIPTION:Laurel Consuelo Broughton and Andrés Jaque will lecture as part of the Practice Sessions series. Practice Sessions is part of the University of Michigan’s Third Century Initiative which funds experimental pedagogies in a bid to change how teaching and learning happen within the bounds of the institution. Over a five-year period\, ten architectural practices will be invited to Taubman College to run a practice session.\n\nLaurel Consuelo Broughton\nLaurel Consuelo Broughton is a designer and educator who explores her interests in narrative\, material culture\, and style within architecture\, design\, and fashion through projects\, publications\, and collaborations at a multiplicity of scales. The object as form and cultural figure features broadly throughout all her work. She has taught at the Graduate School of Architecture\, Planning and Preservation at Columbia University\, the College of Environmental Design at University of California\, Berkeley and the School of Architecture at the University of Southern California. \n\nLaurel is the director of WELCOMEPROJECTS\, a studio of discursive sensibilities focused on the production of real things in the world along with all the incumbent\, critical fictions needed for their survival. WELCOMEPROJECTS are large (buildings\, houses\, interiors)\, medium (installations\, films\, furniture) and small (handbags\, games\, wagons). The studio tells stories through design imbuing each project with curiosity and playful seriousness. Recent work has been exhibited at the 2017 Chicago Architecture Biennial\, Materials and Applications in Silverlake\, A+D Architecture and Design Museum\, Harvard Graduate School of Design\, and galleries in Los Angeles and New York and most recently published in the Los Angeles Times\, Art Papers\, Attention\, Pidgin\, Metropolis\, Offramp\, and Surface.\n\nWELCOMEPROJECTS also designs and produces WELCOMECOMPANIONS\, a project that reinterprets everyday sartorial accessories and objects. The project seeks to inject a sense of play\, suspense\, and narrative into the objects we interact with and depend upon on a daily basis. We suggest the novelty that in our accessories\, function is not wholly dependent on utilitarian form. Launched in 2012\, WELCOMECOMPANIONS has been featured in numerous publications including Vogue.com\, New York Times\, Paper Magazine\, Vogue Italia\, Elle Italia\, Newsweek\, Marie Claire Italia\, Lucky Magazine and Nylon Magazine among others. WELCOMECOMPANIONS are sold in boutiques in Los Angeles\, New York\, Tokyo\, San Francisco\, Sydney\, and Hong Kong.\n\nAndrés Jaque\nAndrés Jaque is the founder of the Office for Political Innovation\, an international architectural practice working in the intersection of design\, research and critical practices. He is the author of awarded projects including ‘Plasencia Clergy Hall of Residence’\, ‘House in Never Never Land’\, ‘TUPPER HOME’\, ‘ESCARAVOX’ or ‘COSMO\, MoMA PS1’. He is the Director of the Advanced Architectural Design Program at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture\, Planning and Preservation.\n\nIn 2016\, he received the Frederick Kiesler Prize from the City of Vienna\, and he has been awarded with the SILVER LION to the Best Research Project at the 14th Venice Biennale\, and the Dionisio Hernández Gil Award.\n\nAndrés Jaque is Associate Professor at Columbia University\, Phd Architect (ETSAM)\, Alfred Toepfer Stiftung’s Tessenow Stipendiat (Hamburg) and Graham Foundation Grantee. His publications include Transmaterial Politics (2017)\, Calculable (2016) PHANTOM. Mies as Rendered Society\, Different Kinds of Water Pouring into a Swimming Pool\, Dulces Arenas Cotidianas (2013)\, Everyday Politics (2011)\, Melnikov. 1000 Autos Garage in Paris 1929 (2004). His research work has been published in Perspecta\, Log\, Thresholds\, Volume\, among many others.\n\nThe design work of his office has been published in the most important architectural and general media\, including A+U\, Bauwelt\, Domus\, El Croquis\, The Architectural Review and The New York Times\, Wall Street Journal\, The Guardian\, El País\; and it has been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art MoMA\, London Design Museum\, MAK in Vienna\, Tel Aviv Museum of Art\, RED CAT Cal Arts Contemporary Art Center in Los Angeles\, Z33 in Hasselt\, Schweizerisches Architektur Museum in Basel\, Princeton University SoA and the Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine de Paris among many others.
