National data from accredited doctoral programs offers little reassurance the phenomenon will resolve on its own (Callahan et al., 2018). Studies of the psychologist workforce pipeline make clear that graduate admissions is a major point of diversity constriction, although issues occur with retention as well. Programs within and beyond our discipline have tried multiple strategies to reverse this trend, but data on their efficacy varies in quality and scope. She leads the committee that registered students in almost all of the Washtenaw County high schools as well as WCC for the past three years and also leads the LWVAAA effort to register seniors. Currently she is working with Voting Access for All Coalition. She has been registering voters in Washtenaw County for at least 30 years!\r\n\r\nLisa Wozniak\u2019s career spans over two decades of environmental and conservation advocacy in the political arena. She is a nationally recognized expert in non-profit growth and management and a leader in Great Lakes protections. Lisa is a three-time graduate from the University of Michigan, with a Bachelor\u2019s Degree and two ensuing Masters Degrees in Social Work and Education.\r\n\r\nBefore becoming Executive Director in 2006, Wozniak was a member of the Michigan LCV Board and today serves on the boards of the Friends of Rutherford Pool, the Huron River Watershed Council, and the National League of Conservation Voters Education Fund.\r\n\r\nBorn and raised on Detroit\u2019s East Side, Branden Snyder, executive director of Detroit Action, has been involved in electoral and community organizing projects throughout the U.S. for 10 years. Previously, he was the Deputy Organizing Director in charge of Youth Voting for the Hillary for Michigan 2016 presidential campaign and Director of Organizing for Michigan United, a coalition of faith, labor & civic organizations in Detroit, Flint, Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo. The increasing use of administrative claims represents one of many plausible answers to concerns related to small sample and single institution studies. Longitudinal data analysis as well as outcomes and cost (insurance reimbursement and patient out-of-pocket cost as a form of financial burden) can be carefully studied using administrative claims datasets. In this webinar, we will highlight the strengths and analytic approaches in current work from the IDEAL RRTC. We will also carefully consider potential limitations in using these analytic approaches. Two different case studies will be considered with a cursory treatment of analytic approaches and population identification with inclusion and exclusion criteria with justification and rationale for these decisions. Applications of survival analysis, propensity score matching, and generalized linear models with respect to dichotomous and continuous and skewed outcomes will be discussed within the contexts of these case studies. The webinar will culminate with a summarization of the value of these studies, why they should continue to be pursued, and next steps in the evolution of claims-based research for the disabled population. Based on fieldwork in Cairo with the \u201cNew Preachers\u201d \u2013 so named because of their novel styles of Islamic media \u2013 this talk explores what these on and off-screen struggles reveal about Islam\u2019s competing theologies and the distinctive media forms they take. It also considers what methodological attunements such contested religious mediations demand of their ethnographers.\r\n \r\n \r\n About the Speaker:\r\n Yasmin Moll is an assistant professor in the department of anthropology. She is writing a book about new forms of Islamic media and the religious contention they provoke against the backdrop of Egypt\u2019s 2011 revolution. Her fieldwork was supported by numerous national grants, including from the Social Science Research Council, the National Science Foundation and the Fulbright Commission. Due to perturbations from the giant planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune), the orbits of these objects slowly evolve with time. In this talk, we will analyze the orbital dynamics of the Kuiper belt objects (KBOs) both with numerical simulations and with a theoretical Hamiltonian approach. We will discuss the structure of the outer Solar System and focus on the most extreme sub-population of objects: the long-period high eccentricity class. The orbits of these extreme KBOs all appear to point in the same direction in physical space; this anomalous signal cannot be explained by the currently known eight-planet Solar System. In order to understand their origin and dynamics, we introduce the hypothesized Planet Nine to the distant Kuiper belt. We find that the presence of Planet Nine allows for two stable populations of objects - the aligned and anti-aligned KBOs - in agreement with observations. We will discuss the mechanisms that lead to this stability, and focus on a fascinating process called resonance hopping, in which a KBO rapidly transitions from one resonance to another with Planet Nine. In the course of evolution, the size and complexity of RNase P grew as the catalytic RNA moiety recruited additional protein components. In eukaryotes, the RNase P lineage has split, giving rise to a related RNP enzyme called RNase MRP, which shares multiple structural features (including most of the protein components) with the eukaryotic RNase P, but has a distinct and non-overlapping specificity. We report the recently solved cryo-EM structure of the 450 kDa yeast RNase MRP holoenzyme and compare it with the structure of its progenitor RNP, RNase P. We show that, surprisingly, several of the proteins shared by RNase MRP and RNase P undergo RNA-driven structural remodeling, allowing the same proteins to function in distinct structural contexts. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Brown University in the music department teaching classes on rap songwriting and feminist sound studies. \r\n \r\natiya jones is a multi-disciplinary artist & creative director at TWELVE\\TWENTY STUDIO. Her work is about human connection and serves as a visual depiction of healing, finding one\u2019s tribe and building a life as a unit, the magic permeating beneath the surface of Self, and the search to find it.\r\n \r\nMonica Byrne is a playwright and science fiction novelist based in Durham, North Carolina. The COVID-19 pandemic significantly restricted older adults\u2019 (ages 65+) in-person social interactions, likely increasing loneliness among this demographic. Due to these restrictions, older adults have started to change their relationships with technology to communicate with family and friends at a distance using smartphones and computers. However, these technologies may not be accessible for all older adults. Voice-based technologies such as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant can be more accessible to those with motor challenges or vision loss\/blindness, yet have not been studied in-depth for how they can support older adult\u2019s well-being. In this talk, I will discuss (1) a recent interview study with older adults COVID-19 technology use and (2) a recent analysis of more than 50,000 queries older adults made to the Amazon Alexa for social well-being. Early findings point to positive and negative aspects of using technology for well-being and aging. \r\n \r\nRobin Brewer is an Assistant Professor in the School of Information at the University of Michigan. She also holds a courtesy appointment in Computer Science and Engineering. Dr. Brewer\u2019s research in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) asks (1) how experiences with technology can be more accessible to digitally constrained communities and (2) how these communities use technology for social well-being. Much of her work focuses on older adults and people with vision impairments.
