DESCRIPTION:Inspired by the synergy between nature’s beauty and complexity\, and in partnership with the University of Michigan Matthaei Botanical Gardens\, artists from the Ann Arbor Potters Guild created work centered around Michigan’s natural landscapes and specifically for the Great Lakes Garden at Matthaei. Potters Guild artists created eight free-standing sculptures using the full range of traditional ceramic methods and tools\, the potter’s wheel\, press molds\, coil building\, slab construction\, and sculpting. Depictions range from naturalistic and representational\, to abstract\, as well as a whimsical nod or two to the timeless role of fantasy and myth in humankind’s communion with nature. You can find each session’s participating business groups on our events central page here. \n\nEquity Capital Markets (ECM)\nThe Equity Capital Markets team is a client-facing division of SMBC Nikko\, responsible for delivering the full front-to-back spectrum of equity products and solutions to our client base. The team is responsible for providing origination and execution on equity and equity-linked products\, including initial public offerings\, follow-on offerings\, at-the-market offerings\, convertible bonds and share repurchase activities. In addition\, the team works closely with clients to structure potential equity offerings that best suit a client's business and financial requirements\, while providing advice on how to best execute offerings. This is accomplished by collaborating with other internal departments to provide comprehensive service and solutions to SMBC’s clients.\n\nHigh Yield Capital Markets\nThe High Yield Capital Markets group is a client-facing group withinSMBC’s broker dealer\, SMBC Nikko Securities America Inc. The group is responsible for providing capital markets advisory for non-investment grade rated corporations and sponsor portfolio companies. The group advises oncapital structure\, new issue pricing\, and syndication strategies for new debt offerings. High Yield Capital Markets also provides “real-time”market insight by leveraging the High Yield Sales & Trading team’s direct feedback from investors.\n\nInvestment Grade Debt Capital Markets (DCM)\nDCM is responsible for delivering the full spectrum of financing solutions for the bank’s clients via the fixed-income market\, including: Advising on structure\, price\, and strategy for primary market debt offerings\, often part of broader multi-product pitches\; Facilitating dialogue between issuers and fixed-income investors\; Advising on debt portfolio optimization via liability management exercises\; Providing advisory service to clients on the ratings process\, regulatory environment and hybrid capitalstructuring\; Gathering investor orders for primary market issuances and ultimately allocating those debt securities appropriately.\n\nLeveraged and Acquisition Finance Group (LAFG)\nLeveraged Finance is a client-facing division of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation\, responsible for delivering the full front-to-back spectrum of lead leveraged loan and high yield bond solutions to our client base including\, private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies and non-Investment grade corporates. Leveraged & Acquisition Finance interacts with bank and institutional clients via its Sales & Trading desks within the broader Loan Capital Markets and Nikko Fixed Income platforms.\n\nLoan Syndications (LCM)\nLCM is responsible for the structuring\, underwriting\, execution and distribution of syndicated loan transactions across all industry and origination groups at SMBC. We work with and advise the front office marketing (origination) units in order to successfully pitch corporate and financial sponsor clients in a combined effort to win lead-mandates for syndicated loan facilities. Proposals toprospective clients usually involve coordination and partnership with other SMBC and Nikko (our Securities unit) product groups (Debt Capital Markets\, FX\, Derivatives Marketing and so on) in order to provide comprehensive\, multiproduct financing solutions to our clients.
