To be able to volunteer with SAPAC, we require at least a two (2) semester commitment (Fall and Winter).\r\n\r\n\r\nWhat can you do after SAPAC Volunteer Training?\r\n\r\nVolunteer Training is required to participate in one of the five student volunteer groups! After you participate in Volunteer Training, you can join one of these groups to continue your knowledge and skill development as well as be actively involved in the movement to prevent sexual violence at the University of Michigan.\r\n\r\nRegardless of which volunteer group you join, you will also have the opportunity to apply to facilitate our bystander intervention program for local bars, Raise The Bar as well as many other leadership opportunities like applying to be a co-coordinator for a volunteer program, applying to be a Peer Led Support Group (PLSG) facilitator, applying to be a multimedia coordinator, and more!\r\n\r\nVolunteers attend weekly volunteer program meetings during the academic year and provide peer-to-peer education programming such as tabling, events, and workshops. I look at Wen Zhengming's *Seven Junipers* as an example. My discussion illustrates how the artist reimagined place (a Daoist temple in Changshu) with a sense of deeper time by reconstituting the constellation of old trees in a holistic composition. \r\n\r\nBy this means, I argue, Wen revealed the limitations of an anthropocentric worldview: the torn and twisted web of arboreal imprint stands for the vicissitudes of the living world and the cosmos. The challenge of the project is to situate the case study in a global context. Washington Street \r\n(Parking in the Thayer and Fletcher Lots), Ann Arbor, Michigan\r\n\r\nFollowed by a discussion led by Will Stroebel, \r\nAssistant Professor of Modern Greek and Comparative Literature\r\n\r\n\u201cTwice a Stranger\u201d is about people uprooted from their homes on both sides of the Greek and Turkish border and about their common experience of being \u201cTwice a Stranger.\u201d Part of the multi-ethnic Ottoman Empire in the early twentieth century, by 1924 their world was violently torn asunder. Half a million Muslims were expelled from Greece, and 1.3 million Greek Orthodox Christians were forced to flee their homes in Turkey. The story unfolds through rare archive footage, interviews with historians and testimonies from both Turkish and Greek refugees.\r\n\r\nThe film inaugurates a series we are planning over the next three years to mark the 1922 Asia Minor disaster and commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the Treaty of Lausanne and Convention on the Exchange of Greek and Turkish Population of 1923, an event with devastating long-term effects that expelled almost 2,000,000 people from their homes. It transformed the Eastern Mediterranean and set the stage for future events of ethnic cleansing.
