SUMMARY:Performance:Come from Away
DESCRIPTION:*Come from Away* is based on the true story of the time when the isolated community of Gander\, Newfoundland\, played host to the world. What started as an average day in a small town turned into an international sleepover\, when 38 planes\, carrying thousands of people from around the globe\, were diverted to Gander’s airstrip on September 11\, 2001. Undaunted by culture clashes and language barriers\, the people of Gander cheered the stranded travelers with music\, an open bar\, and the recognition that we’re all part of a global family.\n\n*Come from Away* has earned global success with 37 award nominations and 13 wins\, most notably Best New Musical at the 2019 Olivier Awards and Outstanding Musical at the 2017 Drama Desk Awards. The show’s global presence resonates with audiences as an uplifting reminder of humanity’s ability to come together.\n\nBook\, Music\, and Lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein\nDirected by Vincent J. Cardinal\nMusic Direction by Cynthia Kortman Westphal\n

SUMMARY:Performance:Time Passes: 8 Short Plays by Samuel Beckett
DESCRIPTION:Samuel Beckett\, best known for his plays *Waiting for Godot* and *Endgame*\, was a leader in the Theatre of the Absurd movement. His works remain the best-known and most-performed absurdist plays\, which are known for their tragicomic tone and the notion that life has no meaning. \n\nIn this series of short plays\, which were written in the mid-20th century\, Beckett plays with language\, settings\, repetition\, and relationships to find the ridiculous underpinnings of life\, death\, and everything else. \n\nFeatured plays: \n*Act Without Words II*\n*Play* \n*Come and Go*\n*Footfalls*\n*Rockaby*\n*Catastrophe*\n*What Where*\n*Quad*\n\nWritten by Samuel Beckett\n\nDirected by Malcolm Tulip
