DESCRIPTION:Heartfulness Guided Meditation is a weekly\, drop-in program designed to help you Mental well-being. \n\nAll U-M students\, faculty\, and staff are welcome to participate in guided meditation practice with a trainer every Friday at noon over Zoom (details to join are provided below). No prior experience with meditation is required. \n\n*What will you learn?*\n\nThe session involves 3 simple steps:\n\nBreathing\nRelaxation\nMeditation\n\nDeep breathing bring a pause followed by Relaxation brings your body to a calm\, steady posture creating a stillness at the physical level\, and prepares the mind for meditation. DESCRIPTION:These sessions are only for students eligible and ready to declare BME as their major. For students interested in BME but not yet eligible or ready to declare\, please meet with one of our Peer Advisors to learn more about our program!What to expect: You are signing up for a group declaration session for the U-M Biomedical Engineering Undergraduate Program. All sessions will be held in person at LBME (view map). In this meeting we will go over the curriculum\, discuss your 4 year plan\, review the BME Student Advising Agreement\, and share the various resources you can engage in as part of the BME department. Please bring a personal computing device (laptop or tablet). A phone will not suffice. In order to officially declare\, students must:Attend the full registration session.By the end of the session\, complete a draft of their 4-year graduation plan and send it to bme-advising@umich.eduBy the end of the session\, complete the BME Advising Agreement form.If students do not attend the full session and/or do not complete items b and c\, they will either need to register for a new declaration appointment or submit items b and c to bme-advising@umich.edu as soon as possible. DESCRIPTION:First-Year Relationship and Sexuality Talk (FYRST) is a required\, in-person\, and peer-facilitated workshop that came directly from feedback and listening sessions with current University of Michigan students. Our goal is to create an accessible\, supportive space for student-driven conversations where all identities and experiences are welcomed and in which students can build skills and tools around identifying goals and values and then communicate effectively about those. Workshops will be offered at multiple locations and times throughout the fall semester\, so please sign up for the workshop that works for you!! First-Year Relationship Sexuality Talk (FYRST) FAQ:\n“How many workshops do I have to sign up for?”\nYou only need to sign up for 1 workshop. Attending 1 workshop will fulfill the requirement for the training. \n“I see that there is more than one session\, does it matter which one I sign up for?”\nIt generally does not matter which workshop you sign up for. There will be a few that are designated for specific groups such as transfer students or for students looking for accommodations. If you do not fit these groups please try to save these workshops for those that do and you are free to choose among any of the other workshops. \n“Is this workshop required?”\nThis workshop is required for all transfer and first-year students at the University of Michigan.\n“I’ve experienced harm around relationships or sexual experiences in the past and I am worried that attending this workshop may be harmful for me.” \nOur team is aware that students who are coming into the university that have experienced harm in the past. Our workshop is specifically designed to respect and validate the experiences of survivors and has been carefully constructed to avoid any specific descriptions of violence and focus instead on themes of empowerment\, communication\, and boundary setting. Many features of corporations\, once grounded in democratic ideals\, now foster the unresponsiveness of these institutions. DESCRIPTION:“Spotless harmonies” –Dallas Morning News\n\nJack O’Neill and Cary Pierce\, the “Jacko” and “Pierce\,” make up the seminal duo Jackopierce. They've been making music for 35 years that has amassed a loyal following of millions of fans around the world with their high-energy live shows\n\nJackopierce began in 1988 as theater students at the legendary Meadows School of the Arts at SMU in Dallas. The duo steadily made a name for themselves\, and within 5 years\, they were signed to major label A&M and recording their debut\, \"Bringing on the Weather\" with uber-producer\, T Bone Burnett. They have toured three continents\, nine countries\, and 46 states. They have shared the stage with John Mayer\, Dave Matthews\, Matchbox20\, Counting Crows\, Wallflowers\, Sheryl Crow\, Toad the Wet Sprocket\, Vertical Horizon\, Lyle Lovett - to name a few. After a five-year breakup\, the guys reunited in 2002 to test the waters.
