DESCRIPTION:Our dear friend Laura Jean Hoffman\, assistant dean for admissions\, passed away suddenly on Thursday\, May 25\, 2023.\n\nAll are invited to join the SMTD community for a Memorial Service and Reception in celebration of Laura’s life and achievements.\n\nLaura’s legacy will be felt for generations. She began her tenure in the Office of Admissions at what was then the School of Music in 1983. In her 40 years of service\, she helped thousands of students and their families through the admissions process\, and\, through her work\, helped to shape our school in a powerfully positive way. She was a national leader in the admissions field\, and an ardent champion of SMTD\, the University of Michigan\, and the performing arts. She was admired and beloved by her colleagues here and around the nation and will be so very missed by all who knew her.
