SUMMARY:Tours:Full Moon Festival
DESCRIPTION:For many cultures across East Asia\, family and friends come together for the mid-autumn Full Moon with festivities\, delicious food\, and good company. The Lieberthal-Rogel Center for Chinese Studies\, U-M Astronomy\, the Nam Center for Korean Studies\, and the Center Japanese Studies invite you to the Judy & Stanley Frankel Detroit Observatory for a celebration of the Mid-Autumn Moon. The evening will open with a traditional Korean Daegum performance and includes presentations from U-M Astronomy on Chinese lunar astronomy and exploration\, a presentation on Japanese lunar celebrations\, tours of the observatory\, and telescope viewing of the Moon! Families are welcome!\n\nRegistration includes the presentations\, performances\, tours\, and Fitz telescope observing. Walk-ins are welcome to join us for tours and patio telescope Moon observations. Extra tour spots for walk-ins are first come\, first serve. \n\nTelescope observing of the Moon will begin outside on the observatory patio around 9:30pm until 10:30pm. \n\nNote: Registration is currently FULL. Reserve tickets available\, please add your name to the waitlist.
