His acclaimed graphic memoir\, Welcome to the New World\, follows a Syrian refugee family’s complex journey to America on the day of the 2016 election\, navigating hope\, fear\, and resilience in a new land.\nHalpern’s talk\, The Art of Storytelling in Words\, Pictures\, & Sound\, will delve into crafting narratives that give voice to the unheard and reflect the spirit of a time\, place\, and community.
