Join us for a lunch and learn with Oprah Jrenal, assistant director of the MSU Gender and Sexuality Campus Center. Empower yourself with knowledge about ace/aro identities, learn strategies for how to support and be a better ally to ace/aro communities, connect with others, and enjoy lunch (on us!)
Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week (ASAW) is an annual, international event. This year’s 2025 ASAW takes place February 16 – 22. ASAW is meant to spread awareness and acceptance for aromantic spectrum identities, the issues they face, and in general, raise awareness of their existence while celebrating it.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Oprah Jrenal is the assistant director for the Gender and Sexuality Campus Center (GSCC). In this role, she advises student groups and GSCC staff in their efforts to create supportive environments in which LGBTQ students can thrive. Oprah has served in residential life at institutions across the country. She has experience presenting on topics such as intersectionality, being a person of color (global majority) in predominantly white spaces, white supremacy, supporting undocumented students, and community building, to name a few. She earned her bachelor's in creative writing with an emphasis in poetry from the University of Arizona and a masters in higher education from the University of Kansas. Oprah has been with the GSCC since January 2018.
