SUMMARY:Workshop / Seminar:Artificial Intelligence: Automatically Inclusive or Automated Ineffective
DESCRIPTION:\nJoin us for this interactive workshop where we’ll unpack artificial intelligence’s (AI) role in diversity\, equity\, and inclusion (DEI). Participants will engage in critical discussions surrounding the effectiveness of AI in fostering inclusivity and its potential role in perpetuating existing biases. Through interactive activities and meaningful dialogue\, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of both the opportunities and challenges AI presents in advancing social equity.\nThis workshop fulfills the unconscious bias and a non-core requirement for Rackham’s DEI certificate program.\nThis workshop is designed for University of Michigan master’s students\, doctoral students\, and postdoctoral fellows. For faculty and staff\, please contact rackhampdeworkshops@umich.edu to see if we can accommodate your attendance.\nRegistration is required at https://myumi.ch/7PNmQ.\n\nWe want to ensure full and equitable participation in our events. If an accommodation would promote your full participation in this event\, please follow the registration link to indicate your accommodation requirements. Please let us know as soon as possible in order to have adequate time\, preferably one week\, to arrange for your requested accommodations or an effective alternative.
