DESCRIPTION:Join us for a science communication panel\, co-organized by MiSciWriters. Featured panelists include: Associate Professor Raychelle Burks\, Matthew Adams\, Sarah Derouin\, and Associate Professor Kaitlin Raimi. \n\nProf. Burks runs an analytical chemistry research lab that develops chemical detection methods for a wide variety of analytes. Prof. Burks is also a popular science communicator\, appearing on TV\, in podcasts\, and at large genre cons such as DragonCon and GeekGirlCon. Matthew is currently the Associate Director of Content Management for LSA. He creates and implements the college’s content strategies to promote stories\, videos\, news articles\, and key messages across LSA’s digital channels to ensure the right messages reach the right audiences at the right time in effective ways that engage them and increase their awareness of and support for LSA. Sarah is an experienced writer and editor who creates engaging and clear content for a wide variety of clients. Sarah established the Michigan Science Communicators (MiSC)\, a regional group of science communicators associated with the National Association of Science Writers. Prof. Raimi is a social/environmental psychologist with interests centering on how individuals can promote or prevent climate-related behaviors and policies. Her areas of interest lie at the intersection of social psychology and climate policy.
