SUMMARY:Tours:Exhibition Tour: Holly Bass\, We Hold These Truths
DESCRIPTION:Join award-winning artist Holly Bass for a tour of We Hold These Truths...\, her largest exhibition to date. We Hold These Truths... marks the return of visitors to UMMA’s iconic Lizzie and Jonathan Tisch Apse following a nearly year-long restoration of its signature marble floor\, transforming the storied space into a sequence of encounters with rooms\, replicas\, and acts of writing that move through the nation’s past and present.\n\nHolly Bass is the Penny Stamps School of Art and Design 2025-2026 Roman J. Witt Artist in Residence whose work will be featured in an upcoming exhibition at the University of Michigan Museum of Art. Known for her genre-defying practice that spans dance\, theater\, visual art\, and writing\, Bass is an award-winning artist and cultural worker based in Washington\, DC. Her work — held in the collections of the National Gallery of Art and the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery — frequently engages communities through workshops\, devised theater\, and participatory installations.
