SUMMARY:Workshop / Seminar:The Art and Tradition of Recipe Cards
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening of reading\, making\, and sharing recipe cards. You'll have an opportunity to explore and discuss historic\, 20th century family recipe card boxes from the Janice Bluestein Longone Culinary Archive. Then\, under the guidance of Arts Initiative Teaching Artist Michaela Nichelle\, you can turn your hands to carving a personal or family stamp to use on recipe cards of your own. Blank recipe cards and historical recipes will be available for use. This event has limited capacity. Please register with the Arts Initiative (https://myumi.ch/7J9xr). \n\nBefore or after the event\, stop by the adjacent exhibit in the Hatcher Gallery Exhibit Room\, \"Faster and More Fun: American Home Cooking in the 1920s\,\" (https://myumi.ch/Ax1qy) and find the commercial recipe cards issued by Monarch Home Service from Beaver Dam\, Wisconsin.\n\nBrought to you by the library's Special Collections Research Center and the U-M Arts Initiative.
