SUMMARY:Lecture / Discussion:HET Brown Bag Seminar | What is the simplest holographic matrix model?
DESCRIPTION:I’ll talk about a Hermitian two matrix model called the Hoppe model\, which has an interesting strong coupling limit where the matrices commute with each other. Furthermore\, there exists an emergent area preserving diffeomorphism symmetry of this model at strong coupling\, which allows us to completely solve it at leading order. The solution for all n-point connected correlators takes the form of a Witten diagram-like expansion in an emergent two-dimensional spacetime. I’ll also briefly talk about commuting strong coupling limits in more general multi-matrix integrals\, including supersymmetric ones. The talk will be based on https://arxiv.org/pdf/2608.14781 and https://arxiv.org/pdf/2607.21593.
