SUMMARY:Workshop / Seminar:Algebraic Geometry Seminar: Stable map resolutions of Richardson varieties
DESCRIPTION:Given a circle action S on a projective variety X\, we introduce the \"stable map quotient\" using Kontsevich's space of stable maps of curves. In the case that X is a Richardson variety (the intersection of a Schubert with an opposite Schubert variety)\, generally very singular\, the quotient is nonetheless smooth! I'll use this to give a log resolution of Richardson varieties\, and describe the dual simplicial complex to the anticanonical sncd boundary.
