SUMMARY:Livestream / Virtual:Woll Family Speaker Series Presents: Dr. Tyler Johnson
DESCRIPTION:About the Talk:\nDr. Tyler Johnson is a clinical associate professor of medicine and oncology at the Stanford University School of Medicine\, where he leads the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program and is a principal medical school faculty member. A prolific author and podcaster\, Dr. Johnson explores the place of religion in a post-modern and often secular world through his writing at the \"On The Road to Jericho\" Substack and through recorded conversations at the \"The Doctor's Art\" podcast. Dr. Johnson's lecture will examine what nearly 200 hours of discussion with philosophers\, clerics\, theologians\, doctors\, nurses\, patients\, and authors have taught him about the role of the sacred in the practice of modern medicine and the need for mystery in a realm usually ruled by a devotion to science.
