DESCRIPTION:CID Speaker Series\n\nJoin the Stone Center for Inequality Dynamics as we host S. Michael Gaddis\, clinical associate professor of management and policy in Georgia State University’s Andrew Young School of Policy Studies.\n\nAbstract: Intersectionality theory argues that race and gender cannot be fully understood in isolation or through an additive approach. This study introduces a systematically comparative framework for identifying missing results in correspondence audits and helping scholars conduct more holistic analyses. Drawing on 52 correspondence audits encompassing nearly 330\,000 tests\, it identifies patterns that can be missed when racial and gender discrimination are analyzed separately rather than through an intersectional framework\, and offers best-practice recommendations for designing\, analyzing\, and citing correspondence audits.\n\nGaddis is a methodologist with expertise in survey and experimental design whose research advances understanding of inequality and discrimination across multiple dimensions.
