DESCRIPTION:Join Professor August Evrard and CGIS Advisor\, Joy Richardson\, to learn more about the CGIS: Global Course Connections (GCC) in Cape Town\, South Africa - Energy Landscape program. This GCC program offers the unique opportunity to pair your on-campus winter studies with an exciting hands-on 3-week global experience taught by August Evrard in the summer.Across the world\, a large-scale energy transition away from fossil fuels and toward renewable energy sources is underway. In South Africa\, students will experience this transition up close by examining how social\, political\, financial\, and environmental factors interact to drive hopeful progress (e.g.\, in solar\, wind\, grid transmission and carbon credits) within the country's massively coal-driven economy.  \nYou can view the GCC South Africa application here.
