DESCRIPTION:What happens when we share our research with those who are researching us? Or when the insights from our research are used against us\, often in the guise of assistance or protection? And what happens to disability studies research when ethnic\, gender\, and sexuality studies departments are made to disappear? In this talk\, which will likely generate more questions about these questions than answers to them\, I bring some of my experiences doing disability studies as a disabled person to bear on a larger work-in-progress on disability marginalia.\nCurrently a fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study\, Alison Kafer is the Embrey Associate Professor of [redacted] at the University of Texas at Austin. She is the author of Feminist\, Queer\, Crip\, and her work has appeared in a number of journals and anthologies. Being by the water brings her joy\, as does making things with clay.
