SUMMARY:Performance:West Side Story
DESCRIPTION:Set against the streets of New York City\, West Side Story is a timeless tale of love\, rivalry\, and the search for belonging. With a book by Arthur Laurents\, music by Leonard Bernstein\, and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim\, this iconic musical brings Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet to life. When Tony\, a former member of the Jets\, falls deeply in love with Maria\, the sister of the leader of the rival Sharks\, their romance sparks a chain of events that threatens to tear their divided community apart. As the Jets and Sharks fight for control of the neighborhood\, Tony and Maria dream of a world where they can build a life together beyond the boundaries that separate them. Filled with unforgettable music\, breathtaking dance\, and moments of joy and heartbreak\, West Side Story explores the power of love in the face of hatred\, the complexities of identity and belonging\, and the consequences of division.
