SUMMARY:Lecture / Discussion:LSI Seminar Series: Twists & turns of our unexpected journey into lipid biology
DESCRIPTION:Over the past three decades\, the Han lab has made a number of changes/additions in research directions\, often into fields that were foreign to them. Thanks to the adventurous tendencies of trainees\, most of the new projects generated breakthrough findings and trained future scientists. Highly interdisciplinary approaches and multiple model organisms have been used in these studies. In this seminar\, Han will recount the initiation and the key moments of the lab's studies in the lipid field\, which exemplify both the fun and aggravation associated with stepping into a new research field.
