SUMMARY:Workshop / Seminar:CM-AMO Seminar | Computing and Networking with Neutral-Atom Quantum Processors
DESCRIPTION:Neutral-atom arrays have emerged as a promising platform for scalable quantum information processing\, combining long-lived qubits\, programmable Rydberg interactions\, and natural interconnection with photonic qubits. In this talk\, I will discuss our efforts to develop new architectures that address key challenges in scaling neutral-atom processors toward fault-tolerant quantum computation and distributed quantum networks. I will first describe a dual-isotope rubidium architecture that provides isotope-selective control while retaining nearly identical Rydberg-Rydberg resonances\, thereby enabling new approaches to mid-circuit measurement\, qubit addressing\, and high-fidelity entangling gates. I will then discuss our development of photonically integrated neutral-atom processors based on ytterbium atoms coupled to fiber Fabry–Perot cavities. These photonic interfaces aim to efficiently connect atomic qubits to telecom photons\, providing a pathway toward long-distance quantum networks and distributed quantum computing. I will then discuss our efforts to build a large-scale quantum internet in Ohio.
