The intersection number of geodesic currents

Geodesic currents are to closed curves what measured laminations are to simple closed curves.

In this talk we will introduce geodesic currents and explain this analogy, by presenting the work of Bonahon where he extended the notion of intersection number between closed curves to geodesic currents.
Speaker(s): Didac Martinez-Granado (Indiana University)
