Content: In this workshop, we will discuss the five methods that have beenused to discover exoplanets. We will look at real data and discuss
which of the methods used to find exoplanets have proven to be the
most effective. We will also discuss the thousands of exoplanets that
have been discovered so far, with a particular focus on habitable
planets and the next steps that are being taken in the field of
exoplanets.

Speaker Bio: Becker has been working in exoplanets since 2012, when
as an undergraduate at Caltech, she first used the Hale 200-inch
telescope at the Palomar observatory to take spectra of cool stars to
better understand the planets orbiting those stars. Since then, she
has discovered multiple new exoplanets and used a combination of
observations and theory to better characterize and understand these
planets around distant stars. She is currently pursuing her PhD at the
University of Michigan, and hopes that her research will help other
scientists better understand how planets form.
