On the behavior of height functions along the orbits of self-rational maps of algebraic varieties

I will talk about some interesting behavior of Weil height function on the orbits of rational self-maps of algebraic varieties defined over a number field. After reviewing some easy examples and the definition of dynamical degree, I will discuss existence/properties of canonical heights in some special situations. Speaker(s): Yohsuke Matsuzawa (University of Tokyo)
