Join us for presentation from LSA staff who participated in the Diversity Abroad Conference 2018. The presenters will discuss:
* How Diversity Abroad as an organization is relevant to the DEI plan for the University of Michigan & the International Education community on campus
* Relevant sessions that were held on student experience, asset-based student recruitment, and effective community engagement in international programs
* How to submit a proposal to present at Diversity Abroad 2019 (for those interested)
About the Conference:
The 6th Annual Diversity Abroad Conference — New Realities & Untapped Potential — took place in Miami, FL from April 7–10, 2018. Diversity Abroad explores the value of diversity in global education, new and creative ways to support diverse and underrepresented students throughout the education abroad process, and collaborations between professionals in global education programs.
Presenters:
Ariel Mallett, currently the Project Coordinator for CEAL’s Transfer Bridges to the Humanities@Michigan and formerly the Project Coordinator for the Digital Islamic Studies Curriculum at the International Institute
Stephen Gonzalez, Communications Specialist for the Center for Global and Intercultural Study (CGIS)
