Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King (MLK), Jr., is the first and only private citizen whose birthday is officially commemorated by the U.S. federal government. During his short life - just 39 years old when he was assassinated in 1968 - he led a nonviolent social and political movement against racism. He has become a symbol of the historical and current-day struggle for civil rights and equality in the U.S.

We invite both international and domestic students, scholars, and community members to learn more about Dr. King’s life, converse with American students and staff about Dr. King’s impact on their lives, and have an open dialogue about diversity and inclusion within and outside of the U.S. The conversation will be facilitated by staff from LS&A Newnan Academic Advising Center and the International Center.
