Parallel transport and holonomy

The holonomy group is a measurement of the non-triviality and path-dependence of parallel transport in a Riemannian manifold, and can be described in terms of the curvature tensor. I will discuss some classical results in this area, with some calculations if time permits. Speaker(s): Salman Siddiqi (UM)
